Christmas Eve

Makenna & Ian are daycare pals - they exchanged gifts early
"Hey buddy, let me help you with this..."

"G & G Roose you are the best! Thanks for all the special Christmas packages in the mail! I love my new animal train!"
We had a wonderful first Christmas as a family of 3! We've been so busy that we haven't had much time to reflect on the things we are truly blessed by this holiday season, but as we scan back through the blog we are quickly reminded of all the amazing events that have occurred over the past year.
First and foremost, we are grateful to have each other (this is our 7th Christmas as a couple - wow!) and an incredible daughter who continues to grow and learn at an unmeasurable pace. She makes us laugh, cry, and everything in between. We find ourselves doing things we said we'd never do (Lesson #1 of parenthood: never say never!) including turning our family room into a toy room - yes it happened already, discussing on more than one occasion investing in a van, and dancing around the kitchen singing made up songs with the hopes of getting a few giggles in return. We feel like kids again and can't wait for this journey to continue into 2009 and beyond.
We are also blessed by so many family and friends who have joined in on our journey. We selfishly wish that everyone we love is within walking distance of our home, but because that isn't the case we cherish every second we get to spend with them - Makenna has especially loved the two weeks she got to spend with G & G Roose in August and the full week she got to spend with G & G Borgstrom over Christmas. Even though Makenna can barely express love, we hope you know she loves you all, even if she doesn't get to see you everyday!
As another blog entry comes to a close, we'd like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!
XOXO, The Roose's
